Pumping Iron

A large part of my weekly schedule is hitting the gym with Michelle. Konami Sports Club is a national gym franchise and I have been a member for about a year and half now. I have fallen in love with the staff and regulars at Konami therefore, it is another part of my Japanese life that I am sad to say good-bye to. Recently Michelle and I went for a photo shoot inside the gym and here are some pictures of the crazy foreigners working out!

Of course, we can't hit the gym without being goofy at all times! So we are always whooping it up in all the aerobic, weight, step and dance classes! Being the foreigner and not know what is going on does often have its perks. Perhaps a few of the fellow members will be happy to see us loud ones moving on out....no, we secretely make their workouts more entertaining!
Tuesday night is Latin dance class and it is our absolute favorite! Here is a picture of Michelle and I with our instructor who has moooves!
Get some more weight on that!
Michelle with one of our favorite Konomi Sports workers....silly guy!
Konomi Sports has been a large aspect in my life here and again am sad to say good-bye. The 31st is our last day and tonight was my last Latin dance class....we even got an shout out in it that we were soon leaving. Being a member of a gym is NOT so wonderful or magnificent because it is a day to day, routine thing that doesn't bring upon many highlights. However, being a part of such a everyday occurance in a foreign country is what makes it complete wonderful.....you almost feel part of the society. Thanks Konomi and my workout buddy, Michelle!

Most excellent that you had a chance to take some dance classes! Chip and I have talked about it, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Perhaps we'll have some time this fall.

I broke down about two years ago and joined the local gym, and I've enjoyed just surface membership (meaning I haven't done any classes). Lizz has taken Ava there for baby swim lessons!
